firstlight first joined forces with Klarna in 2016 to launch the brand in the UK as it introduced the first buy now pay later product into the market. Our goal was to drive merchant acquisition, establish Klarna as a disruptive force in fintech and retail, and create mainstream fame for a brand who at that time had only limited awareness in the UK market.

Over the five years that have followed its launch, Klarna has enjoyed a meteoric rise. Now one of Europe’s biggest fintech unicorns with a valuation of over $10bn, it has conquered the payments market and achieved cult brand status across the world. 

On every step of its journey from tech startup to industry leader, we helped Klarna tell the story of its success, engage merchants with compelling content, and inspire and educate consumers about the Klarna offer.  At the same time, we helped Klarna protect its reputation and position itself as a responsible lender in the eyes of customers, stakeholders and policymakers.
