Shaping the UK skills agenda
German HR technology unicorn Personio tasked firstlight with the launch of its business in the UK and Ireland. Beyond launch, our brief was to grow its profile amongst SMEs, investors, prospective employees and the wider tech community across Europe.
Positioning the business as a major player in European tech, we made the most out of key heat moments and growth milestones, such as its eye-catching funding rounds or product launches, to ensure that Personio was a regular presence in the tech and business media.
We also helped turn its leaders into more visible commentators in the scale-up and tech communities, to help tell the Personio story and highlight its strong trajectory for growth. Our training and coaching ensured they were ready to face the action and comfortable with any potential tricky questions.
We elevated the brand amongst European SME customers through topical insights on the key HR issues of the day. We were one of the first to spot the Great Resignation trend, and helped SMEs across Europe mitigate its impact with robust advice and guidance.
We also coordinated with Personio’s partners in local markets to land campaigns across the continent effectively, and developed a brand new content framework to revamp Personio’s digital engagement.

Over four years, we took Personio from a little-known tech platform, with no presence in the UK and Irish media, to a sought-after commentator with a media fan club that’s watching its every move. In doing so, we didn’t just expand the HR Tech category; we helped redefine it.
Telling the corporate story of the business and its growth trajectory helped secure top-tier business coverage across Europe and position Personio as a major player in the European tech scene. Our campaigns helped businesses across Europe tackle key HR issues and positioned Personio as an employer of choice.
And a new approach to content has seen Personio’s rate of LinkedIn follower growth more than double, boosting engagement with its key audiences.
